Kris and Nicky are such a lovely couple, they made shooting their wedding super easy. We met up before the day and discussed what they wanted and their ideas for their formal portraits. It was also a great opportunity to just have a chat and get to know each other.  These meetings give me a feel for what type of people I am shooting, what their tastes are and what they might like their finished photos to be like.

I love so much the candid moments I can capture throughout they day, but the adrenaline is really pumping before the service (mine too !).  I love photographing the groom when he is waiting for the bride to arrive, the bride herself, just before she walks into the ceremony and the guests arriving and chatting, catching up with old friends.

For the ceremony itself, plans had been adapted from an outdoor service in the gardens to a service in the library, due to an unfortunate shower, but the location still provided a stunning location for photographs, with all the rich wood and books...

Kris and Nicky and I visited the hotel where the wedding was going to take place to scout out locations and found a few great places in the grounds where we decided we definitely wanted to spend some time on the day taking bride and groom portraits. Luckily, on the day, the weather was perfect and we went back and go the shots we planned. I am delighted with the results !

The lovely soft light was perfect for capturing some romantic moments....

The group formals were a mixture of the traditional and less formal, taken in various places around the hotel. The bride also wanted some more 'fun' shots with all of her friends from school, which we loved doing. This little collection also betrays my love of shoes !

The reception is always a nice part of the day to photograph, people are relaxed the nerves are gone and its all about having fun and celebrating. The first part of the reception was relaxed drinks in the hotel bar and out on the lawn while I took the formal shots. With the help of Neil, my excellent second shooter both were captured at the same time.

Kris and Nicky had an Alice and Wonderland theme running through their decorations and for the party people became 'mad hatters' in some cases modelling their own creations. Great photo opportunities abound !

Wishing Kris and Nicky a wonderful life together !!!
